GATHER ROUND ONTD TREKKIES, IT'S TIME FOR SCIENCE!!
I. For those who may not know, the electromagnetic waves that carry TV broadcasts don't evaporate into thin air. Unaffected by Earth's gravity, they continue traveling out into space for eternity, and it's most likely that if there's intelligent life outside our solar system, our earliest TV broadcasts will be the first messages they get from us (scary, amirite?)
So some guy put together this awesome chart of what broadcasts they are currently getting on nearby planets:

(clicky)
( Some are quite relevant to our interests: )II. If like me, you're also fascinated by the idea of knowing where all the Federation planets are in relation to us (based on real life star maps), check out this awesomely huge Map of the Federation:

(warning: I'm not lying when I say this is HUGE. It took me 10 minutes to find Earth on this thing, although that's prob me being stupid cause naturally it's smack in the middle) It's really cool once you get into it, and for a visual person like me it helps my understanding of canon events a lot more.
***ETA: I didn't realize that some of you would have trouble reading the tiny print on the map :( I've uploaded a .pdf version that's much clearer and you can zoom in closer:

( here is my version just for you: )
