The Great Cross-Posting Experiment!
TOBY STEPHENS: SAVIOUR OF THE BBC? Well, not quite, but the ginger one has pretty much single-handedly revitalised Robin Hood through sheer ridiculousness and also SEXY SEXY ACTING AND COMING ONTO TO PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE. That's the way we like it, sir.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. Prince John/Gisborne is gut-bustingly hilarious. DRAGGING HIM OUT OF HIS BED ALL SWEATY. FORCING HIM ON HIS KNEES. "Do you love me?" IT IS ALL AMAZING STUFF. I particularly liked the fact that he locked Guy and the Sheriff into a murder-off for his own entertainment (DEAD SHERIFF WOT! Interesting). HE IS SO MAGNIFICENTLY PETULANT, AND ALSO GINGER ♥

I also liked Isabella much more this week; she is interestingly angular and takes appropriate amounts of delight in cunning schemes and has fabulous dresses and is very good at saying "King John" in beguiling tones. SHE SHOULD STOP KISSING ROBIN, THOUGH. I don't want to see that. HE IS THE WORST WIDOWER EVER. FAIL, BOBBIN, FAIL. I didn't understand why he was all "I trust her with my life" last week, and I still don't really get it, but if you love this show, you must accept the bad writing. And the fact that the lead looks like a potato with a receding hairline.

Masochistic as it may seem, I'm actually rather looking forward to Show kicking up the Much/Kate/Allan love triangle a bit? IDK, it was just vaguely adorable watching them falling all over themselves to get her water and sprinting to her arrow-stricken side. I'm not fancying Much's chances on this one, though; to be fair, it is Allan's chance to win at a love triangle. I'm just biased because of THAT THING WHERE I AM BASICALLY IN LOVE WITH MUCH'S EYES AND EVERYTHING HIS DOES MAKES ME CLUTCH MY CHEST AND 'MEEP'. She probably prefers Bobbin anyway, because the people who write this show are BLIND AND ALSO STUPID.

To conclude: Toby Stephens is magnificent, and, in an ideal world, his Prince John would be delivered as a dramatic monologue, thus removing the need for Bobbin at all. Also Gisborne is a loser and that is the way I love him. NEVER CHANGE, O GREASY ONE. And never stop flicking your hair about!

OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I completely, agree Robin/Isabella does not sit particularly well with me. On the other hand, Prince John/Isabella is right up my alley. And, as you'll see from my latest post, Toby manages to have sexual chemistry WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING/EVERYONE, so I may be biased. OH LAWD.

Isabella >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kate.

Robin annoyed me slightly this episode. Of course, this may be due to the OVERHWHELMING AMOUNT OF TOBY LOVE THAT I HARBOUR WHICH OVERSHADOWED EVERYTHING ELSE.

SEXY SEXY ACTING AND COMING ONTO TO PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE

THE GRIN. ON MY FACE. IF YOU COULD ONLY SEE IT.

TOBY STEPHENS: SAVIOUR OF THE BBC?
YES AND YES. Damn I need screencaps of every single one of his magnificent facial expressions.

OH TOBY.

I admit to not precisely knowing what's up with RH as of right now, but! I just saw a (terrible) version of The Great Gatsby in which he was Gatsby. And he was kind of a creeper and thoroughly miscast, yet he was still an unfailing bit of sex. It fairly blew my mind.

COMING ONTO TO PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE

He did! And I was amused, he really is barkingly magnificent!

There should be an animated icon with the Gisbourne hair-flick and some kind of L'Oreal comment! That would make my day XD.

to be fair, it is Allan's chance to win at a love triangle.
...*cries a little bit.* Meep! It is indeed. I cannot decide if I am looking forward to this triangle or not. It could just get annoying if they drag it out too much. I'd rather they just picked one and went with it. And O! how I wish there was Allan/Isabella and not Robin/Isabella. ACK.

I think I may need to rewatch this episode again, just to rewatch Toby Stephens. I wasn't really feeling it, but I want to give it another chance. Or maybe seven more chances, who knows?

This was so EPIC. And filled me with such glee. I was oddly relieved that the Sheriff wasn't really dead, I would miss him somewhat. Wonder if he was wearing one of those sandwich boards a la Poor Dead Roy?

In a weird way I think what makes Robin trust Isabella are her similarities to Marian. That's how I'd write it if I was to fic them, anyway. That would partly explain why he's drawn to her, without having him completely over his dead sort-of-wife. In a way I'm happy for him to be all keen over another woman because it makes what he felt for Marian less real, or at least not the Great Love he thought it was. What I would love is for Marian to appear (ghostly or otherwise) and shake things up. "YOU FORGOT ME, ROBIN." And then Guy would be all "I DIDN'T. SEE HOW I DIDN'T." What would be awesome is if he redeemed himself of his own accord and THEN Marian returns...yeah.

I'm not 100% sold on Toby, to be honest? Like, he cracked me up and all, but I sometimes felt his petulance was overacted and not entirely convincing. But this episode was definitely magnificent and highly amusing and he was a very, very key part of that. And I thought the character was overall interesting, so.

ALSO. I HEART ISABELLA GREATLY. And oh, I think I want Kate to end up with Allan? Though Much nursing her back to health was highly endearing, not gonna lie.

HANNAHPALOOZA.: Allan's lolface ♥[info]curlybeach on May 4th, 2009 11:58 pm (UTC)
OH GOOD LORD SOPHIE. HE WAS SO GOOD I WANTED TO WEEP. He was such a pansy! And he was funny, but also kind of sweet and endearing in a 'I never got enough love from my family' kind of a way. AND HE WAS SO SEXY , I FELT QUITE FAINT. And he has sexual tension with everything/body, which I totally expected, BUT IT WAS STILL GLEEFUL.

I think I ship Guy/John.

I liked Isabella, too! She has essence of Marian, but in a more likeable way, I think. (Not to speak ill of the dead, of course. ilu really, Marian). Though why does she have to go for the most potato-like fellow in the vicinity, when she could have her pick of the sexies (though not Guy, because ick).

Allan might charm the stupidly long skirt off Kate, I feel. Poor Much. Bring back his lovely Eve, I say. Then there could be a sweet, normal relationship to replace the sliver of Will/Djaq which is sadly departed.

I proper fancy greasy!Giz. I cannot help myself.
